Bio
I'm studying English literature in London after spending 12 months as a volunteer teacher in South Africa. It was an absolutely incredible experience (I could gush for hours, but I'll spare you. We've only just met.) I generally spend my days watching films, drooling over men who were hot in the '70's, and trying to persuade my sceptical friends that Michael Palin really is sexy and not just "that old bloke who travels a bit."

I won't list all my interests seeing as... ooh, they're listed just after this. But I will say that there is more to my life than Monty Python and old British blokes. (Really.) I love the arts, theatre, reading, writing, and I could have endless debates on various subjects if I have a willing partner. I love history. I love myths and legends and learning about the monarchy and the ways of life in the past. If there's a castle around or a historical building, you'll find me in it. (If not, check the pub.)

I've also caught the travelling bug in a big way, largely thanks to South Africa, and I'm fascinated by the world, politics, culture and the way people live. SA taught me how much there is to a country once you peel away the very thin layer of tourism that nicks most of your money and gives you nothing of the true place in return. I want to see as much of the real world as possible.

So, ending on a 'Jerry's Final Thoughts' type note... my philosophy is that you can't necessarily control what happens to you in life, but you can control how you react to it and how you use what you've learnt to help you in the future. It's up to you. Take everything with a bit of humour and LAUGH. It's the greatest invention in the world.

(That, and Monty Python of course. And celluloid. And the Aston Martin. And Terry's Chocolate Orange...)
